Making Yourself Future Recession-Proof

The actions or in-actions of your past have contributed to your current situation; as well as, the actions required now to future recession-proof yourself. What you do now, will have direct bearing upon the results you will achieve in the future, whether it is in good time or bad times. To what degree things improve or decline are impacted by the steps you take now.

Achieving Success Requires Action!

7 Steps along the pathway to your personal level of success requires action. Of course, having clearly defined goals and effective plans to achieve are essential. The core to achievement of your goal is the appropriate, effective and consistent action toward these goals.

Let me put forward seven action steps one can use to achieve success:

1. Get Serious! Realize that life is not a dress rehearsal, and you cannot wait for something to happen. You must go out and make your future. If you are waiting for something to happen, you have lost any control over what will likely occur. As well as, the form and/or direction it will take you.

2. Ask for directions! Use the wealth of knowledge, by having coaches/ mentors point you in the right direction, as well as, at times bring you back to your True North. Coaches / Mentors may be "in the flesh", or they may found in other non direct forms, such as. book, training material, seminars. Nor do they need be in you field; only to be positively interested in you and your successful efforts to achieve results. These relationships succeed, when both parties have open positive dialog. When you are receiving the coaching from books, training seminars, etc., you must be the one to be open to the message. Share your thoughts with other openly, and in turn you may become the mentor.

3, Be a student of success! Learning never ends, thank goodness! Be committed to personal development. We can all improve each and every day. The benefits are wonderfully fulfilling. Study your field! Most have learn that there are no careers in which every aspect has and will always remain constant. Because there are none.

4. Work hard! You cannot achieve success in neural, waiting or hoping to slowly develop into your goals. This will facilitate remaining in the dream stage of your goal. You need to kick your plans into action, then manage them forward to completion. I recently hear John Maxwell state that change can occur in a flash, but to succeed, one must effectively manage the change.

5. Try It! Do It! and Learn from It! Frequently we tend to limit our options, before we know whether or not they the right or wrong steps. So don’t fire hose yourself. Keep open to the possibilities to you next and future steps. Try it, and if it is not the best or right step, learn from your experience, then try it again with the knowledge and experience gained.

6. Believe! Maintain the belief in yourself, and what you can and will do. Continue the belief in the value of achieving your goals.

7. Take Personal Responsibility! To achieve and to have value in the achievement of your goals, you must be the key actor in achieving them. As noted before, you must control your destiny. Believe in the truth that your are totally in charge of you own life! Note how Stephen Covey states that effective people are Personally Response-Able!. Being the director and actor, not just the re-actor.
